15 Travel Quotes to Help Keep Things in Perspective

Seeing the way others live is the only way to truly understand and appreciate (or seek to change) your own life. Traveling to other countries allows you to witness first-hand where people in different cultures live, how they get to work, what they eat for dinner, how they socialize, and all the little idiosyncrasies of daily life that are so fascinating to foreigners. However, most travelers would agree that a certain point those picturesque beaches, brightly painted homes, and endless smokey mountains start to lose the jaw-dropping effect they had when you first got off the plane. You go on autopilot. It’s like that last bite of pancakes. You remember the excitement of the first fork-full but by the end you’re just eating because there’s still food on your plate.

Well I don’t know how to fix the pancake problem, but whenever I’m feeling jaded by the sights and sounds I try to find a good travel quote to remind myself of how lucky I am. So if you find yourself less than interested in that 50 foot waterfall in the jungle, it might be time to read a quote or two to put things back in perspective.

Some inspiring, some funny, these are 15 of my favorite travel quotes.
